Letter’s Play

Design pedagogy,
student outcome

The typography of Letters Play is inspired by patterns and grids from everyday surroundings. Organically rounded forms are reminiscent of body parts or vases, while angular ones recall tools or industrial components. This design vocabulary cannot be unambiguously deciphered, but seeks to stimulate the viewer’s imagination. Black-and-white contrasts and the interplay of positive and negative forms result in strong graphic effects. With simple means, the imaginative shapes thus succeed in maximising impact.
